Dr. Kemal BARIS graduated from Middle East Technical University (Ankara, TURKEY) in 2000. He started his academic career as a research assistant in Zonguldak Karaelmas University in 2002. He got his M. Sc. and Ph. D. degrees in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Then, he has worked for Bulent Ecevit University Zonguldak Vocational School (Zonguldak, TURKEY) as an Assistant Professor between 2011 and 2013. He has also worked for Virginia Center for Coal and Energy Research (Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State Univeristy) as a Research Scientist (2012-2013). Then, he was appointed as Associated Professor in October 2013 and Professor in February 2021. He is currently the head of Department of Mining and Mineral Extraction in Zonguldak Bulent Ecevit University.
